Jewellery Care Guide

A little care goes a long way. Help preserve the finish of your MAAHI 18K gold-plated brass and natural-stone jewellery with these simple habits. Gold plating can gradually wear with use; gentle handling helps it last longer.

Last on, first off

Apply lotions and perfume before putting on your jewellery, and let your skin dry fully. Remove rings and bracelets before using hand sanitizer or washing with soap; rinse and dry your hands thoroughly before wearing them again. Avoid direct contact with cosmetics, cleaning products and other chemicals.

Take jewellery off before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Keep it away from prolonged moisture, sweat, heat and strong sunlight.

Clean and dry gently

After wearing, gently wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If a piece gets wet, carefully pat it dry and let it air-dry fully before storing. Do not rub or scrub.

Avoid soaking, steam or ultrasonic cleaners, abrasive products, metal polish and chemically treated polishing cloths. Natural stones vary in hardness and porosity, so avoid detergents and home cleaning mixtures unless a stone-specific method has been confirmed suitable.

Store separately

Keep each fully dry piece in its own soft pouch or a separate compartment of a lined jewellery box, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Keep chains untangled and protect stones from knocks, drops and friction. Avoid storing jewellery in a humid bathroom.

Listen to your skin

Skin sensitivities vary. If you notice redness, itching, burning or a rash, remove the piece and stop wearing it. Seek medical advice if irritation persists or is severe. Gold plating does not guarantee that a piece will be suitable for every skin type.
